Wild Women - Exhibition in Amsterdam
Am 12. November 2022 habe ich meine allererste Ausstellung eröffnet. Mitten in Amsterdam.
Ich kann das eigentlich immer noch nicht so ganz glauben. Gleichzeitig fühlt es sich an, als wäre es schon eine halbe Ewigkeit hier und nicht erst 1,5 Monate. Dieser Tag war einfach so schön und ich platze vor Stolz und Dankbarkeit. Die Ausstellung ist dort noch zu sehen. Bis wann weiß ich leider nicht genau. Aber sicherlich noch bis Ende März oder April.
Dies ist meine Eröffnungsrede (auf Englisch) & einige Eindrücke von diesem Tag:
"I am not enough"
"I am too old"
"I am too fat"
"I am too thin"
"I am definitely not beautiful enough"
"Only when I am different to who I am, I get to be loved."
As a photographer, I have heard all of this!
And to be honest, at some point in my life, I felt most of this, too.
And it´s crazy how many women hold these beliefs.
I wish it wasn't so.
I wish we celebrated individuality again and saw people for who they are.
To love ourselves again for who we are.
And this is exactly what I wanted to achieve here today.
When I see these women, who joined me on this journey, all I see is wonderful diversity.
And I thank you all so much for trusting your vulnerability with me.
I LOVE individuality. I really , really do.
I celebrate that every woman is different. Each bringing with her, her own wildness.
So.
Let’s set our attention to
A woman‘s force of nature
Her kindness,
Her boldness,
Her fierceness,
Her strength.
Everything that she is.
